Common but very powerful tools are available to all organisations within software applications they currently have installed. The most important of these is Microsoft's Windows Explorer.
We advocate a strongly formalised Programme Directory Structure based on the parent organisation. The benefit of this, along with the recommended manner of utilising the provided sub folders, enables us to provide an easily navigated structure which reduces confusion and increase efficiency.
Also through this we can implement an 'active directory' control of the folders and files. This in turn provides a secure working environment and allows us to ensure confidentiality where required is maintained.
The supporting documents describe in details how these folders and their sub folders are utilised and how the active directory management is established and maintained. The image above is an extract from a How To document "abbtORGHOW017"* which describes the Programme Directory in some detail.
